Pete Fleming was a co-founder of Invest in Knowledge in 2004 and was acting Executive Director from 2004 to 2011. In 2011 he joined Bankable Frontier Associates, a niche strategic consulting firm with core expertise in the policy, regulation and practice of extending access to financial services to the poor. Pete has 10 years experience leading survey research projects throughout SubāSaharan Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Latin America, and Antarctica. Prior to joining Bankable Frontier Associates, he was the Research Director of a University of Pennsylvania Wharton School longitudinal study of entrepreneurs and small businesses in South Africa. From 2004 to 2010, he led a multidisciplinary team from the University of Pennsylvania that studied changes in demographic, socioeconomic and health conditions in rural Malawi through the collection of intergenerational transfer and household panel data. He holds a bachelors degree in Public Health with a concentration in Economics from the University of Rochester and a masters degree in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania. Pete is currently an MBA candidate at Babson College's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business with plans to graduate in May 2012.
